Duro-Last's commercial warranty options
Supreme: 15 or 20 years. Can cover consequential damages, with material and labor coverage available. Duro-Last says it was the first manufacturer to expressly cover consequential damages on commercial buildings.
Ultra: 15 or 20 years. Covers material and labor, with high wind and/or hail coverage available.
Basic: 15, 20, 25 or 30 years, for owners who want core coverage without extras.
Exact terms, requirements and what is excluded are in Duro-Last's warranty documents. Read them before you choose.
Why wind and hail coverage matters here
On the Coastal Bend, hurricane season and hail are the risks that matter most. If your building is in Corpus Christi, Portland, Ingleside, Rockport or Port Aransas, ask about the Ultra option with high wind and hail coverage, and make sure the roof is built to the Texas windstorm code.
The inspection before the warranty
Duro-Last sends a Quality Assurance technical representative to do a hands-and-knees inspection of each commercial installation before the warranty is issued. That is a second set of eyes on the work, on top of the roofer's own supervision.
How to keep the warranty valid
- Inspect the roof at least twice a year and after major storms.
- Keep drains, scuppers and gutters clear, and keep debris off the roof.
- Clean with non-abrasive, non-solvent cleaners. Duro-Last warns against solvent-based cleaners.
- Report any leak under warranty within 7 to 14 days of finding it.
- Keep records: the warranty, the WPI-8 windstorm certificate, inspection photos and repair invoices.
Working with Nelson Roof Contracting
As a certified Duro-Last installer with over 50 years of hands-on roofing experience, we will walk you through which warranty fits your building before the job starts, and build the roof so it passes both the Duro-Last inspection and the Texas windstorm inspection.
How Nelson Roof Contracting runs a Duro-Last job
1. Inspect and measure. We walk the roof, check the deck and insulation, and take the exact measurements Duro-Last needs to fabricate your roof.
2. Duro-Last builds your roof in the factory. From our measurements, Duro-Last fabricates the deck sheets and flashings to fit your building, with up to 85% of the seams welded before delivery.
3. Supervised installation. Our crews install the system with every job supervised, paying special attention to edges, corners and penetrations, where coastal roofs fail.
4. Windstorm inspection. On the Texas coast we plan the roof for the windstorm inspection and WPI-8 certificate from day one.
5. Duro-Last's own inspection. A Duro-Last Quality Assurance technical representative inspects the finished roof before the warranty is issued.
